Inspiration

Students often struggle to find educational opportunities, career paths, jobs, and government schemes because information is spread across multiple websites. Opportunity Finder was created to bring these possibilities together in one organized platform.

What it does

Opportunity Finder is a web-based platform that helps users explore education pathways, career options, jobs, and government schemes. It provides an organized interface with available search, filtering, and roadmap features to help users discover relevant opportunities and plan their next steps.

How we built it

We built the project as a browser-based application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. AI-assisted coding helped us develop and organize the application. The source code, assets, and project documentation are maintained in a public GitHub repository.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was organizing different types of opportunities into a clear interface without overwhelming users. Maintaining a consistent design and organizing the source files and application logic also required attention.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a working proof of concept that brings multiple opportunity categories together in one interface. We are proud of the project's focus on accessibility, organized navigation, and helping users explore possible education and career pathways.

What we learned

We learned how to structure a browser-based application, organize HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files, use AI-assisted development, and document a project. We also learned the importance of checking generated code and testing the user experience.

What's next for Opportunity Finder

Our next steps include improving the accuracy of opportunity information, adding verified eligibility details and application deadlines, expanding state-wise coverage, and making personalized career roadmaps more comprehensive.
