A big part of our inspiration stemmed from the stress in our own lives. The difficulty of doing so many interviews and resumes and applications for internships to try and get ahead in our careers puts a toll on us, and we know we're not the only ones.

What it does

OpportUnity makes finding, advertising, and fill out internships fast, easy, and accessible all in one place.

How we built it

Zoe did the code, building the structure and defeating the learning curve while the rest of the team worked on design and the presentation. The design was implemented into the final demo and we shared ideas and thoughts throughout the day until it was just how we wanted it.

Challenges we ran into

A major challenge Zoe ran into was Android Studio suddenly throwing an error most of the way through the project. After researching and trying to fix the issue she was forced to go back to a backup file from several hours back and start again. A challenge Vivek had was his computer unable to download and run Android Studio. To combat this, instead of sharing the responsibilities he took all of the design responsibilities like making the logo while Zoe did all of the code on her own.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the learning curves we defeated on the way.

What we learned

We learned a lot about team building and how making an app works, especially all the parts that go into it.

What's next for OpportUnity

After we finish the demo, a website adaptation would be a good place to start.

Note to Judges:

Our third member, Nivedhitha, disappeared Sunday morning and never gave us her part of the video. Sorry about that.
