When I was contributing to OpenVINO, I spent quite a bit of time looking through benchmark reports. The data was available, but it was spread across different reports and wasn't very easy to explore or compare.

I found myself asking questions like:

Which model performs best on a particular hardware? Has performance improved between OpenVINO releases? Which model gives the best FPS while keeping latency low?

Instead of manually checking different benchmark files every time, I thought it would be useful to build a platform that brings everything together.

So I built OpenVINO OSS Navigator.

It's a full-stack web application that lets users explore benchmark data through an interactive dashboard instead of raw reports.

Some of the features include:

Interactive dashboard Benchmark leaderboard Model comparison OpenVINO version comparison Performance trend graphs Recommendation system Benchmark explorer Export benchmark data

I built the frontend using Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, and Recharts, while the backend is built with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and SQLite. The project is deployed using Vercel and Render.

The biggest challenge was organizing benchmark data from different sources into a consistent format and building APIs that could efficiently filter and compare the results. Deployment also took some debugging, especially while connecting the frontend and backend.

This project helped me learn a lot about full-stack development, REST APIs, deployment, and data visualization. More importantly, it showed me how a simple inconvenience can turn into a useful project.

Going forward, I'd like to add support for more OpenVINO releases, better filtering, more benchmark datasets, and a smarter recommendation system.
