Inspiration

I'm a contributor and maintainer of a media-wiki project and site. We got 3921 Issues and an infinity of PRs. Opensource maintainers need a way to deal with a x20 explosion of PRs and issues.

What it does

  • We give issue and PR submissions a vouch or denounce (and after 3 strikes the agent denounces users)
  • We also automate PR notifications and testing
  • It is totally local and decentralized so "hard core" open source orgs like matrix can use it too. ## How we built it

Challenges we ran into

We wanted to make the system cross repository, but we also didn't want to centralize the vouch scores. In the end we opted for a more distributed less centralized system.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It's being used in various forms (hashimotos and agentic form by our media-wiki community)

What we learned

tools need to flexible and talking to users is key for tooling projects.

What's next for vouch-gitlab

add some more tooling. for example auto notifications etc.
