Inspiration

I wanted to make something cool with openGL. I'm interested in learning more C. I like demoscene and wanted to try something sort of related.

What it does

That's the beauty of it... it doesn't do anything!

(in reality it generates fractal patterns with GLSL. Mouse coordinates are used to control the speed and hue of the fractal. You can press space to stop pause and look at the pretty patterns, or ESC to quit.)

How I built it

Slowly, painfully, and with little sleep.

What did I learn?

  • A lot more c (and to just use C++ so I don't have to mess with GLSL string literals...)
  • The foundations of the OpenGL rendering pipeline
  • The deleterious effects of sleep deprivation
  • To never trust a coffee vending machine offering "Carbonated beverage 2"

Thank you!

Thanks to the KentHackIt team for a great hackathon and their amazing work in not only organising the event (I'm only referring to the cup stacking, of course) but rescheduling it with such short notice.
