OpenFile is a free, MIT-licensed web app that lets you work on your files without ever sending them to a server. PDF, images, video, audio, fonts, archives and developer formats all stay on your device.
What it does
- PDF: merge, split, compress, sign and OCR
- Images: convert HEIC, WebP and AVIF, resize, and background removal with a local AI model
- Video and audio: convert, trim and compress using ffmpeg running in WebAssembly
- Fonts, archives and developer formats
Why it matters
Files never leave the device. OpenFile works offline as an installable app and needs no account.
