# 🌱 Inspiration

The idea behind 9Lives came from a simple realization: while AI has reshaped almost everything — from gaming to social media — education still feels outdated. We moved classrooms online, but we never truly reimagined how people learn.

I wanted to build something that feels personal, adaptive, and truly alive. The name 9Lives represents the belief that, just like cats, people deserve endless chances to explore curiosity — to try, fail, learn, and try again.

Our mission is clear: make open education as engaging and addictive as Duolingo, but for everything.

💡 What We Learned

Throughout this journey, we realized that learning isn’t linear — everyone understands things differently. The real challenge isn’t delivering information; it’s helping people connect it in meaningful ways.

We also discovered how powerful motivation is. Simple things — streaks, achievements, progress visuals — can transform learning from a chore into something rewarding.

🛠️ How We Built It

We began by building an MVP where users choose a subject and its modules. Our system uses AI to:

• generate a dynamic syllabus
• create lessons and quizzes
• track progress visually

To make learning fun, we added streaks, leaderboards, and gamified challenges. We combined AI APIs for content generation with a minimal front-end to quickly test usability. Every feature was designed to make learning feel effortless, intuitive, and enjoyable.

⚙️ Challenges We Faced

Our biggest challenge was balancing AI autonomy with high-quality content — making sure generated lessons were accurate, meaningful, and well-structured.

As students, we also had to work around time limits and limited resources. There were late nights, endless rebuilds, and lots of debugging — but every setback sharpened the vision.

🚀 What’s Next

We’re now focused on turning our MVP into a polished, stable prototype ready for large-scale testing. The grant will help us:

• refine the user experience
• improve personalization
• add more adaptive learning features

Our long-term vision is to make 9Lives a place where anyone can learn anything, in their own style, while finding joy in the journey of discovering knowledge.
