Inspiration
We just needed a calendar display for .ics files and but we had to host it or install it. Thus the Open Web Calendar was born: You can now just embed a calendar if you have an .ics file hosted somewhere.
What it does
Display and customize a calendar.
How we built it
Python, flask, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Could not be just browser based because you cannot always access all the resources from the browser.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It works and has more features e.g. when it comes to styling than paid solutions.
What we learned
Lots of reading of RFC specifications.
