OPEN TABLE helps tabletop designers and mixed-access groups try new ways to play while inspecting what an adaptation preserves.

The working private prototype offers two original games: Beacon Steps, a public-information race, and Pocket Signals, a private-card game. Players can use shapes and words or scan-and-confirm selection. The workshop enumerates each finite state space and checks legal choices, transitions, outcomes, and each player’s information. Deliberately bad adaptations demonstrate why removing a choice or revealing a hidden hand changes the game.

Adaptation packs can be downloaded, reopened, validated, and checked again before activation. The implementation uses Node.js 22 and dependency-free browser JavaScript with a local HTTP server.

Finite checks establish properties for the two modeled games and supported adapters, not universal accessibility or enjoyment. Human access playtests remain necessary. NVIDIA models on Nebius are intended to propose grounded adaptations; the current prototype makes no model calls and does not claim competition qualification.
