Inspiration
I inspired form Meson, CMake and npm. I am a C++ begineer it annoys me find c++ libraries, configure those and sometimes we find the source repo instead of build repo. To make our project we need build managers too. (Or else type 100 line commands when your project becomes big) As a Javascript developer npm is very comfortable. I thought what if CMake and npm come together in a single project manager.
What it does
My project is C Operations a free and open source C++ Tool. It can install c++ packages. It can publish packages. It can build projects.
How we built it
You publish / host your package like libs/ and include/ files on the Git Providers like GitHub or GitLab and our registry hosts that single URL which contains the package.yaml and configurations using our coop-cli. (We implemented Authentication too)
Then you download packages from our coop by providing a name and our registry returns url to the GitHub or GitLab Repository. Git clones that and coop organized those files into the repos.
Coop can also build projects. It handles a build-cache/ folder where it compiles every file into .o files. If .cpp file is NEWER then .o file that means source has been changed hence we compile that single file and link the rest, if the .o is NEWER then last .cpp write time that means source hasn't changed and we skip compiling it.
