Inspiration

Its been hot this summer, I want a fan that knows when I'm sweaty, and cools me down

What it does

It knows when you are hot and sweaty. It keeps you cool by blowing you dry

How we built it

Used a Raspberry pi to connect to a moisture sensor. At the threshold level, turn on a fan to cool user down.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring the hardware setup worked as expected. The initial idea was to connected the raspberry pi to a servo to spray deodorant. But alas, it was hard to get the servo working appropriately. We pivoted to using a fan instead.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the moisture sensor on/off logic to work correctly. Our initial code had the fan turn on by default.

What we learned

Troubleshooting hardware takes patience and lots of kindness to self. Viam makes hardware use really easy.

What's next for Only Sweaty Fans

On the hunt for more sweaty people to test the product Get a different sensor that is more flexible so it can be embedded into clothing
