Inspiration

Lack of personal advice about suitable uni courses.

What it does

The tool asks you several questions (under the guise of a small and joyful bot avatar) about your academic interests and personality. Then, it suggests names of courses you should try exploring based on the result. The questions asked in the questionnaire depend on your previous answers to questions in the same session.

How we built it

Making the website in the frontend involved using HTML, CSS and Javascript; while backend development focused on SQL.

Challenges we ran into

Picking valid ideas and making sure that the project is not too ridiculously ambitious for 24 hours' worth of work were the biggest challenges for our group.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of picking an idea that can help people choose their uni course! All of us in the group can vividly remember the pressure associated with picking what we'd like to do for the rest of our lives in such a short space of time. Knowing that we are creating something for a good cause is an amazing accomplishment.

What we learned

Karolina learned Bootstrap, Julia learned cmd and the rest of the group came to learn of the true power and meaning of teamwork.

What's next for Online University Course Advisor

The tool seems like a really great thing, so we're possibly thinking about actually finishing this project in the future! We're confident that it would help people undertaking their A Levels and exploring their options.
