Inspiration
Modern systems programming demands rapid iteration without the friction of local toolchain configuration. Developing cross-platform C applications often exposes subtle differences in memory alignment, undefined behavior, and architecture-specific ABIs. We set out to create an instant, zero-setup developer workstation that brings the full power of GCC 13.2, C17 language standard compliance, and interactive execution tracing directly into any modern web browser.

What it does
Online C Compiler Suite is a high-speed cloud compilation and execution engine engineered for developers, educators, and systems researchers.
Key capabilities include:
- Full C17 Standard Support: Compile standard C code with cutting-edge GCC 13.2 and Clang toolchains.
- Interactive Memory & Pointer Inspection: Visualize heap vs stack allocations, pointer arithmetic, and buffer boundaries in real time.
- WebAssembly & Container Sandboxing: Safe, isolated execution sandbox with sub-100ms cold start latency.
- Interactive Standard Input (STDIN): Full support for real-time terminal I/O, command-line arguments, and piped inputs.
- Multilingual Localization: Native language interfaces tailored for global engineering communities across English, German, French, and Spanish speaking regions.
How we built it
The platform is built on a resilient distributed architecture:
- Frontend Engine: Lightweight, responsive Monaco editor interface integrated with WebAssembly runtimes for instant client-side syntax highlighting and linting.
- Compilation Pipeline: Containerized microservices running hardened GCC 13.2 instances on Linux kernels with cgroups v2 resource quotas.
- Memory Safety & Analysis: AddressSanitizer (ASan) and UndefinedBehaviorSanitizer (UBSan) hooks that surface runtime memory leaks and bounds violations directly in the output console.
What's next for Online C Compiler Suite
We are actively expanding AST visualization, adding interactive GDB step-by-step debugging hooks, and extending compiler toolchains to support emerging C23 standards.
