Inspiration:

Our team wanted to focus on the financial challenges that were given out. Capital One presented a great opportunity and in the spirit of reimagining banking, we brainstormed away. Soon thereafter we had our mission to design an easy-to-use online banking service.

What it does:

We made use of a website easy access feature to deploy an app that allows you to check your balance, deposit your check, or get cash from the closest bank or ATM.

Challenges we ran into:

Our main challenge was connecting APIs to our program. This voided our idea to implement a sign-in / out feature. The second biggest challenge was working out the logic for multiple pages.

After much trial and error we have an attractive website.

What we learned:

Our team took a lot of lessons about team management, time management, code base management, Streamlit, and banking. We are very happy to have learned these lessons and will implement them in future projects.

What's next for Online Banking Service | UMBS Hack2021 :

Future updates will be a map that gives your directions to the nearest ATM to pick up your money, security features like sign in, a working check reader to send check data to the server, and update users balance.
