Inspiration
Sensors are not 100% new in this field, yet the current market is not fully inclusive. Only supporting force analysis and high intensity workouts, we wanted to create something that everyone would feel comfortable using, regardless of their skill level. A supportive system, not only through a social networking perspective, but also emphasizing the importance of form and technique for workouts.
What it does
We provide immediate feedback based on continuously collected data of an individual who is working out. The immediate feedback consists of correcting form and posture, incredibly important to avoid injury. The social aspect of the application allows for connectivity, keeping each other motivated, working alongside friends, yet still having the freedom to work at one's own pace.
How we built it
A two part system, we constructed an app alongside modelling the use of efficient sensors. The app was built using an app builder, and is a model that shows what we plan to incorporate in a future potential app. The sensors were 3D modelled using blender, and the technique used to analyze data collected by the sensors was coded in python.
Challenges we ran into
We used market-available sensors, focusing on location analysis. However, figuring out the equations to analyze collected data, data that was not available to us, was a challenge. Looking into 3D modelling and positioning, we constructed a relatively understandable, unique model.
