Inspiration

What is most tedious for travelers who love to travel from here and there, sharing what they have seen, tasted, visited, and enjoyed with others, and one of the best ways to share is through blogs. I was earlier making a travel blog but By how much time it takes, why not automate it? It is still in production as the scale was larger than anticipated, see-through and please suggest if there are any more features that can be included other than those described. 😊

What it does

It is a simple web tool that creates your blog with help of form data and displays it on the same screen so that users can see their product live. Later once the user is satisfied with their app just hit download to get a long text file well described how to follow through. And done!! with just a simple form and some clicks, you have your blog app ready to go.

How we built it

I used nextJS, typeScript, and MongoDB as databases while GitHub for basic authorization for the page and tailwind for styling the UI part. And finally, Vercel for deployment. I first made a travel blog template later made it visible on other websites and then make it update in real-time with changes in dB.

Challenges we ran into

There were many issues with nextJS due to its new release and thus, it was difficult to look through old docs and work with new ones. And there is also mongo's less compatibility with server-side and client-side rendering making it even harder to work with. And finally building nextJS sucks as it will typecast every single error and make it an issue. Plus the issue with managing file structure made hacking even harder.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I haven't slept for the last two days😥😥!! is that an accomplishment? well, I get my basics straight while working with the new version of nextJS and ts. Also, I worked for the first time with such a large-scale project using next. Working in more congested situations also helped me to learn new ts tricks.

What we learned

Refined basics of ts, nextJS, Tailwind, and the importance of file structuring.

What's next for onHandBlogs (onHandBlogs)

It currently only provides a single template and is also slow in making files at the end; I will make it available for other things like portfolios, personal blogs, and work-related blogs too. That is for later though.
