Inspiration

As a product manager, my work thrives on human connection—exchanging ideas, gathering insights, and building relationships. I attend countless tech and business events where meeting the right person could spark the next big idea. But sharing my contact details, portfolio, and social links in a meaningful, seamless way? That’s always been a hurdle. Juggling phones, typing handles, or pulling out a business card felt outdated and disconnected from the innovation I stand for. That’s where the spark for OneTapID came from—a smarter, faster way to connect and convert conversations into relationships within seconds.

What it does

OneTapID is a smart networking tool designed for professionals and teams. Using NFC-enabled cards and wristbands, it lets users instantly share a customizable landing page that houses all their key links: social media, portfolio, messaging apps, business websites, and more. It’s like a live, always-updated digital business card that also captures leads, connects with CRMs, and tracks engagement—all in a single tap or scan.

How we built it

We used bolt.new—an AI-powered prototyping platform—to rapidly visualize and validate our product experience. From wireframes to branding and user flow, Bolt helped us iterate fast and keep our user-first approach at the core of our design. We combined this with NFC technology for the physical hardware and integrated dynamic link generation for smart landing pages.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge? Shipping delays. Coordinating the arrival of NFC hardware for testing and demos slowed down our timelines and almost derailed our user testing phase. But we adapted quickly, simulating the tap-to-share experience digitally until the devices arrived.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. We built and tested a working MVP in under a week
  2. Integrated dynamic landing pages with user customization
  3. Designed branded NFC cards and wristbands ready for production
  4. Created a seamless event-mode feature for real-time lead capture
  5. Had our first 20 early users test and validate the experience

What we learned

Great products start with real problems, and connecting fast, authentically, and professionally is one. We also learned how powerful rapid AI prototyping can be for product teams, and how hardware-software harmony is key when bridging the physical and digital.

What's next for onetapID

We’re gearing up to launch our Business Suite for teams, with CRM integrations, analytics dashboards, and role-based access.

Next steps include:

  1. Expanding NFC hardware customization
  2. Launching a mobile app for profile management
  3. Partnering with event organizers and enterprise teams
  4. Building a community around fast, meaningful networking
