Inspiration

The inspiration behind OneStop came from the SAP sponsor challenge. We thought that the challenge seemed simple yet complex enough to be a good test of our knowledge.

What it does

OneStop is a software solution designed to optimize the scheduling processes of tire change shops. It integrates with systems using CSV files to facilitate efficient appointment bookings by looking at historical data to allow the shop owner to analyze their potential gains and losses.

How we built it

  • The frontend is built using React.js, chart.js library for graph visualization
  • The backend was built using Node.js and Express.js

Challenges we ran into

  • Finding an optimal solution that increased the possible revenue. A lot more time went into brainstorming and discussion regarding algorithms compared to coding.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • This project allowed us to improve and sharpen our React skills. Although it was very difficult and frustrating at times, the experience we have gained is valuable.
  • Being able to display the result data into graphs on the front end for easy visualization.
  • Our AI powered algorithm was able to solve a problem mentioned in the challenge without us having to work on it.

What we learned

  • We thought that the premise seemed simple enough at first, however trying to come up with the most optimal solution possible is always a challenge, therefore we learned to never understimate a task or challenge, as you never know what roadblocks lie ahead.

What's next for OneStop

As this project consisted of retrospecting on previous data, the logical next step for OneStop is to use Machine Learning to be able to predict future data, and use Neural Networks and Deep Learning to train the model with previous and potential patterns.
