Inspiration Government services are often spread across multiple departments and platforms, making them difficult to access and track. OneSeva was inspired by the vision of creating one simple, secure, and transparent digital gateway for citizens.
What It Does OneSeva brings government services into one platform. Citizens can securely sign in, track applications, manage data-sharing consent, receive real-time notifications, and submit grievances. Government officers can review and manage applications through role-based access.
How We Built It We built the mobile application using Flutter and integrated it with a scalable backend architecture. The project uses secure authentication, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Docker, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and encrypted local data storage.
Challenges We Ran Into The main challenges were designing interoperability between different government departments, maintaining secure data access, managing consent, and creating a smooth user experience while handling complex application workflows.
Accomplishments We’re Proud Of We created a unified citizen experience with application tracking, consent management, grievance handling, real-time updates, and officer workflows. We are especially proud of making a complex government-service ecosystem easier to understand and use.
What We Learned We learned how important interoperability, privacy, security, and clear user interfaces are when building public-service technology. We also gained experience in designing scalable systems that support both citizens and government officials.
What’s Next for OneSeva Next, we plan to expand the number of integrated government services, add multilingual and accessibility support, improve analytics, strengthen identity verification, and deploy the platform for real-world use across more departments and regions.
