Inspiration
I've always wanted to design something that can help improve and change lifestyles. I looked through a bunch of random medical datasets, not knowing which one to pick, and then got the idea to combine a bunch of them.
What it does
Shows users personal risks of getting different chronic illnesses through lifestyle surveys
How we built it
Used Kaggle for datasets, Jupyter notebook for analysis and model training, and pandas/streamlit in vscode for app building.
Challenges we ran into
Data collection, package dependency issues, a lot of time spent on scrapped features that ended up being too unrealistic
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The web interface itself looks nice, the data parsing and filtering works really well
What we learned
Streamlit development, Python development, and medical knowledge on how illnesses are isolated for diagnosis
What's next for OneLife
SHAP explainer, support for more chronic illnesses
