This is a beta sign up page for a project that I have been working on called Onefan.

Inspiration

The inspiration behind this page, is truly driven by 'Onefan' itself which has been a true labour of love and devotion for about 10 months and basically 'Onefan' is a site that aims to give people amazing conversations with a unique chat UI by using an algorithm to match you to someone that has the same interest as you in a Tv Show(more kinds of content coming soon). The reason for the cleanly designed UI on the beta sign up page is because I had an old sign up page that was incredibly mediocre, so I looked at a problem and said what can I do to improve it, and solve this problem, I always try to strive for better. This beta sign up page was only about 1/3 created before hack western but now it is all done!

What it does

This page simply uses firebase, JSON/JS, and email Js to get data package it in a JSON and push it to a server so I know who signed up for the beta , It also uses a clever js library email Js and some tricky code to email the person who just signed up.

How I built it

Just the regular web cocktail of:

  • JS
  • CSS
  • HTML as well as some external API's:
  • Firebase
  • emailJs ## Challenges I ran into
  • The JSON object of the user data having A-Synchronous call-back issues.
  • Working with the emailJs library.
  • [unrelated] But creating the match making algorithm for the website.

  • Once the site launches this page will have already served its purpose :).
