Many hobby based communities rely on social media platforms such as Facebook and Reddit. Because these sites are not specifically designed for buying, selling, and trading, users face issues with scammers, long shipping times, and poor user interfaces.

What it does

This is a web app which can be used to view posts based on communities. Other back-end features include fetching all users and creating queries.

How I built it

I worked on the front-end using React.js and developed front end HTML and CSS templates for the site.

Challenges I ran into

I have never used react before and I do not know all the tricky stuff about JavaScript. I ran into a lot of issues with formatting the webpage using HTML/CSS as well.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Every piece was satisfying to complete, as none of it was easy. Anytime I thought I knew how to do something, it still took like an hour.

What I learned

I learned how to use react to build a web app. Although I did not work on the backend, I learned more about JSON and how the two communicate.

What's next for OneBST

Add more features to make it a usable platform.
