##Fun2Learn

The one billion literates foundation is an NGO, which participated in Paypal Opportunity Hackathon 2015. They came up with the problem statement of building a learning application that will cater to the needs of teacher and students alike. The teacher will be able to create topic modules and generate tests. The students will be able to take the generated tests and view their performance. Though the outline was simple, there were some constraints added to it - no availability of internet, Ubuntu systems and no tech savy people to operate it. This was quite a great learning experience - to think of an application in a very simple and isolated way. We discussed through multiple approaches, tried out a few, tasted failures but were eventually able to build an application that satisfied the requirements and ran under the constraints.

Ours is a learning application that allows teachers to develop tests and students to take these tests. Basically, the stakeholders for our application are - Teacher and Student. A teacher has the capability to collate study material on a topic and to create practice tests on the topics. A student has the capability to take a test and view performance report. The innovative part of the way we developed our application is that we do not ask teachers to frame questions. He uploads study material on a topic and the system takes care of the generation of questions. It has the ability to generate multiple types of questions - Fill in the Blanks, MCQs, Match the columns and Anagrams. The application also tracks the performance of a test-taker and gives a full report of his performance.
