Inspiration
One Tower: Final Defense grew from a simple idea: defending a single tower should offer endless possibilities. We wanted to combine the excitement of surviving overwhelming waves with the satisfaction of building stronger, smarter defenses.
What it does
Players defend a lone tower against relentless enemies and bosses. They layer defenses, equip relics, deploy support drones, and forge augments to customize their approach. Each run is an opportunity to experiment, progress, and push further.
How we built it
We built the game in Unity using C#, with Firebase supporting backend services and analytics. Development started with the core combat loop and expanded into progression, equipment, rewards, and tournaments. We also developed localized store assets and promotional videos for the mobile release.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenges included maintaining smooth performance during crowded battles, making complex upgrade systems understandable on small screens, and keeping progress and rewards reliable through connection interruptions and app restarts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We brought combat, customization, and long-term progression together around one clear premise. We’re especially proud of giving players multiple ways to strengthen their tower while developing a recognizable visual identity and preparing the game for release across mobile platforms.
What we learned
We learned that depth depends on clarity. More features only improve a game when players understand their choices and can see their impact. Reliable saves, readable interfaces, and responsive combat deserve as much attention as new content.
What's next for One Tower: Final Defense
Our immediate focus is reaching our first players, listening to their feedback, and improving the opening experience. From there, we aim to refine balance, address performance issues, and use what players enjoy most to guide future updates.
