Inspiration

The goal of this project is to build a product, be it a website or an app or both, to bring people of the world together through music. As music transcends language, achieving this goal should be simple. However, this requires some more pre requisite goals to be achieved.

Goals

Create a social media website dedicated to musicians and listeners, aspiring artists, celebrities or recruiters. (Need of the hour) Enable AR/VR on website for wider reach, for online concerts and for online training with instruments.

In this way, people can be kept engaged, and helped to hone their talent, making this quarantine incredibly productive. Instead of worrying about the crisis and the various what-ifs.

Depending on the various talent hiring agencies in the music industry, who will conduct competitions in this platform to look for talent, not unlike a virtual Indian Idol or a virtual Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, and their sponsors, the app can be monetized, not to mention premium features for musicians, made available at a basic price.

What it does

Create a social media website dedicated to musicians and listeners, aspiring artists, celebrities or recruiters.

How I built it

This is a RESTful API created on Golang. This API will be consumed by a mobile/web app.

Challenges I ran into

There were numerous challenges that I encountered during this hack, one of them being incorporating video AR into the app. Other one was to keep track of live trending music and artists.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am extremely proud of being able to find a solution to track the trending artists and music in real time. Also, since a social media has so many different functionalities and features, developing the entire API within the stipulated time is commendable.

What I learned

Learnt to build API from scratch and to consume it into apps. Learnt DB and network interactivity.

What's next for One Touch Music

Mobile and Web support for this app coming soon!
