INSPIRATION –

The invention of wheel by Human is a remarkable event that led to the evolution of humankind. The humankind always navigates and migrate for their food, living, habitat, etc. The process of navigation always had its own processes and difficulties to overcome at any point in history. Even in the modern technology age, we have to undergo a huge number of processes to move into another nation for any kind of visit including Work, Education, Business, Medical, Tourism and many more. Though we will not be able to reduce those processes for migrating to another country, we thought of streamlining those processes to users with our tremendous technological hands.

PROBLEM STATEMENT –

Every nation in the world has its immigrants coming for various reasons. Especially we Indians are present in every single country on this planet. India has the largest diaspora in the world with 18 million (1.8 Crore) people living outside India, in addition to this 13.45 (1.35 Crore) million people are Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). As per the Ministry of External Affairs, there are 32 million (3.2 Crore) Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) residing outside India.

Considering the superpower nations like the USA, about 4.5 million Indians are residing in the United States of America. Today, Indian immigrants account for approximately 6 percent of the U.S. foreign-born population, making them the second-largest immigrant group in the country after Mexicans and ahead of immigrants from China and the Philippines. Likewise, Indians are predominantly present in the Gulf countries like UAE where almost 3.5 million people in the total population are immigrants from India. Furthermore, 3 Million Indians are also present in South Asian countries like Malaysia. Indians have also etched their presence in most of the powerful countries like Canada - 4%, Australia – 2.8%, United Kingdom -2.3%, Malaysia – 7% and Singapore – 9% sharing a significant (approx.) percentage. Meanwhile, Indian students hold a major share across the globe for courses like Medicine, Engineering, etc.

  • The migrants in most of the cases are unaware or not educated enough about the eligibilities, opportunities, processes and procedures to pursue their aspirations to move abroad
  • A huge sum of money is spent via agencies, consultancies and booking brokers to complete the process involved in migration for various travel reasons
  • Information on National Laws, VISA types, types of jobs, industries and resources of the country, educational infrastructure or courses, lifestyle in the country, climatic conditions and nature of weather in the country are not available on one platform
  • Medical tourism across the world is unorganized but increasing due to differences in cost of the treatment, severity of the disease, urgency of the medical cases, medicinal infrastructures, etc.,
  • The Unskilled workforce for developed and developing nations are mostly fulfilled with foreign manpower by agencies or brokers, who charge a lump sum in most cases for processing the job
  • Lack of infrastructure to analyze and suggest opportunities to an individual to proceed with their career based on their current qualifications, eligibilities or skills
  • The international students without proper exposure and clarity end up in not so good universities where their survival thereafter becomes challenging and stressed
  • Lack of guidance about various opportunities available widespread across the globe for students especially from rural parts of a country who are statistically weaker among international students
  • Unavailability of financial guidance and support for students with great acumen but not from a strong financial background

WHAT IT DOES?

The idea of Fly Easy is to culminate the various problems experienced by migrants around the world with Pega’s robust technological concepts like Case Management, Data models, Integration Services, Decisioning Hub and Reporting Solutions to effectively address the issues.

● User Enrolment

The user who likes to migrate to a country abroad for any particular reason is the primary work party for our application. The user will be able to login into our application and needs to submit their personal details, educational details and professional details in the first stage of the application

● Analysis of User details

With the chances of the user being a student/ professional/ labour/ medical tourist, we will be analyzing the data collected from the user with the aid of our robust decisioning and prediction models to guide him through the most relevant procedures that well suits their profile and we will also provide suggestions to the user with the list of next best options for pursuing their aspiration. Thereby, we bring the primary structure to the user’s aspiration abroad

● Students

Based on the current qualification and aspiration of the student, the user will be provided with the aspired course details and its availability classified based on the country, state, college rankings, finance required for the course, procedures for student VISA and probable chances for the student based on their current qualifications

● Professionals

Based on the professional experience, domain, nature of the job and its demand in the market, the users will be provided with a list of opportunities segregated based on their aspired countries, job opportunities for their relevance, leading organizations, salary expectations and market status, Cost of living in the country, Climate and Life options for family

● Skilled & Unskilled Labours

The users in most cases are ignorant and unaware of the processes they undergo. But the mobile version of our application will have pictorial representations of various skills enabling them to easily choose their area of interest and local language assistance to explain the job description and details using the localization feature in Pega. The user will be provided with opportunities classified based on the aspired country, salary expectations, contract term period, Nature of job, Food, Accommodation and employee benefits

● Medical Tourists

The user will be treated with priority and addressed based on the enquiry details collected in the initial stage to better serve the user in dire need. The user will be listed with options based on the preferred country, VISA policies of the country, medical infrastructure, financial estimate, expected tenure of treatment, statistics from the past.

● Role of Consultancies/Brokers

In most cases, the migrants are cornered to approach consultancies/ brokers to get through the procedures with slightly lesser challenges at a significant expense of cost. The role of consultants and brokers can be entirely avoided with a more transparent process strategy to guide the user to their destination

HOW WE HAVE BUILT IT?

Fly Easy is an application built with the intent to provide a one stop shop for individuals aspiring to migrate to any desired part of this globe for education, work and residency. As a prototype application, the students aspiring to pursue their education abroad are considered as the primary users and the case lifecycle is designed in relevance to them.

  • The students will be able to create a case to enquire or follow through a set of processes based on their interest area. The basic details including personal details, educational background, course preference, college and country preference are collected
  • The user will be then redirected to the eligibility check stage with a set of action items to be processed for getting through to the preferred college and course. Every action item will require a response from the user which will be consolidated and calculated to apply for the course in the institution
  • In some cases, the user may have not got the relevant details to be submitted for a specific action item. So the user will be shown an option to get to know about the details or guidance to complete the action item through a series of steps
  • The passport action item can be taken as an example, where the students in most cases will not have the details. So we guide the student to the passport portal to apply for a passport and also instruct them on the list of necessary documents to be submitted for processing the request
  • Likewise, we have configured the action items for every process or document needed. Thus enabling the student to successfully proceed with the application for the intended course in the aspired college and country
  • Once all the action items listed under the eligibility check stage are completed the user will be moved to the next stage providing them an option to search for a part-time job based on their course, college and country selected
  • We are planning to provide suggestions on loan options from the finest financial organizations for students in need of financial assistance

An extension to the above prototype is to provide a step by step assistance to migrants willing to move to a different part of the globe for sake of employment opportunities. To work in a foreign work location the user needs to thoroughly explore and research work opportunities, industries and resources available as per their skills in the desired country, and chosen state. To attain a job user needs to check the eligibility criteria for that job, national laws, applicable VISAs, educational details, work permit requirements, climatic conditions, the infrastructure of the place, cost of living, social life and educational facilities for members of the migrant’s family. As we provide all these checks and information across our case life cycle, we ensure the user with a path set to grab the job opportunity without shelling out a huge sum of money to agencies and consultancies.

Another extension of the prototype is to get world class medical attention and services from locations across the world to assist the patients and their attendants. Medical tourists are the users with utmost priority and consideration as it impacts the life of the patient. We will enable our application with Customer service representatives for medical tourists to guide them more personally. The user case will be processed based on multiple factors like patient’s state, nature of the disease, medical infrastructure needed, Visa process of the country to travel, life options for the user assisting the patient and financial estimates for the treatment Hence, we desire to enhance this user experience for every user scenario who aspire to travel abroad for their very own reasons.

REPORTS & FEATURES –

Fly Easy will be featuring an extensive reporting capability to fulfil the user with utmost information on their area of interest.

Migrant Details:

Revealing the migrant's percentage in the country, the age group, occupation, purpose of migration, opportunities and Resources in the country.

Student:

Distinguishes the country, course or field of study primarily and then drills down with the statistical data of colleges, course options like – Duration, Admissions or Intakes, College Ranking, Exposure, Career assurance based on the track recorded by the institutions, Faculty for the course, Options for specialization in the course and Financial estimations.

Professional:

Classifies the country, business / domain / technology, Relevant Job providers or firms, Opportunities in relevance to user profile, Salary Expectations, Visa Process and Immigrant Law details.

Medical Tourists:

Lists the available options in the country, medical infrastructure, financial estimate, VISA process, Success ratio and statistics based on similar cases based on the enquiry.

PEGA DESIGN –

The following are the Pega components are configured to enable the proposed solution.

Case Type: FlyEasy

This is the main case type that will drive the workflow to capture all the details related to the candidate’s basic details, educational background and his/her study preference abroad. This also gathers information about the eligibility check of the candidate which provides information about the prerequisite for the higher studies he is about to pursue in his/her preferred country and university. There is an option for the candidate to apply for part time jobs in his/her preferred country.

Data Types:

Several data types have been created to maintain the information about the candidate for his/her application. Below are the list of data types.

  • College – This data type provides a detailed list of colleges and universities in each of the cities across the globe.
  • Country – This data type provides a detailed list of countries and a list of states across the globe. (Present list – Europe, USA, Canada, Australia).
  • Course – This data type provides the list of courses available for each of the universities.
  • JobSearch – This data type is used to display the list of results in the part time job search portal in the application.

Integrations:

  • Integration with Passport Seva: This API would be used to apply for Passport online by providing the candidate/ professional’s proof details if he is not holding a passport already.
  • Integration with Immigration: This API would be used to apply for visas online for selected countries by providing the candidate/professional's proof details.
  • Integration with Job Search: This API would be used to apply for a part time job in the online portal if the candidate is willing to work part time during studies.
  • Integration with Citizenship: This API would be redirected to the government embassy or immigration portal where users can apply for permanent citizenship for selected countries by providing the candidate/ professional’s details.

CHALLENGES FACED –

  • Managing the huge list of countries and states in the database across the world where the candidate is interested in pursuing higher studies.
  • No central repository for the latest courses that are updated for each university in different countries across the globe.
  • Integration with Job Search portal for each of the countries where the candidate is trying to apply for a part time job.
  • Extensive research on the pre requisite for each of the courses the candidates are interested in the universities across all the countries.

VISION FOR FUTURE –

The application is to be enhanced with most of the following features to provide the best in class experience for the user.

  • The student users could be suggested with loan options from the finest financial organizations based on their academic performance
  • Suggestions to migrants on accommodation or residence options, amenities, basic necessities, commute, food and local driving policies
  • The proposed solution can be enhanced to capture the working professionals who are willing to immigrate to foreign countries due to personal or official reasons.
  • The application can be expanded to provide options for the candidates to select his/her preferred course in universities in all the countries across the globe.
  • The Application can be enhanced to integrate with multiple external systems for initiating Visa, Passport, Apply PR and for applying required exams online.
  • The application can be enhanced to be built into mobile devices with localization with multiple language options for candidates/ working professionals in different countries.
  • Access to the application not only from website or from search engine results, but will also be provided via ads, feeds and blogs etc.,
