Inspiration
One-Shot is built around a simple high-stakes hook: one level, one attempt, every day. I wanted the game to feel quick to start but tense, where a single miss matters because the result is visible to the community.
What it does
One-Shot gives players a daily challenge with only one attempt. The short format makes each run easy to try, while the public outcome turns the game into a shared Reddit moment.
How I built it
I built One-Shot for Reddit's Games with a Hook Hackathon, focusing on a small, repeatable game loop that works naturally in a subreddit: quick play, clear outcome, and public stakes.
Challenges
The biggest challenge was keeping the scope tight while making the one-attempt rule feel fair, tense, and worth coming back to each day.
What I learned
I learned how to design a game around Reddit-native community pressure and how much clarity matters when the entire experience depends on a short daily run.
