Inspiration
I was inspired by the universal story of how a name evolves into an identity. In hockey, every player begins unknown, but through perseverance, pain, and passion, their name becomes a symbol echoed by fans.
What it does
The film transforms this journey into a cinematic narrative: a one-minute portrait that condenses years of sacrifice into the emotional roar of a crowd. It is both personal and universal, speaking to athletes and dreamers alike.
How we built it
I built the film entirely with AI — no real footage. From the ice glow to the crowd’s roar, every frame and sound was generated to feel raw, cinematic, and emotionally alive.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was condensing a lifetime of struggle into a single minute without losing depth. Balancing realism and artistry, and making AI outputs feel raw and human, required multiple iterations. Of course a big challenge was a realism and a character consistency from being a child to and adult one.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I created a film that resonates with both hockey fans and wider audiences. The project demonstrates how AI can elevate sports storytelling while keeping the emotional heartbeat intact.
What we learned
I learned (again) that AI is not about replacing creativity, but amplifying it. By fusing human narrative instincts with machine precision, we achieved a result that feels authentic and larger than life.
What's next for One Name. One Dream.
The film has already aired on Russia’s national sports channel “Match TV,” promoting the start of the new hockey season. Now, I hope it will be appreciated by international festival juries as well.
