Inspiration

As a full-time content creator juggling 4+ platforms, I grew frustrated with jumping between native analytics tools—each with disjointed metrics, no unified revenue tracking, and zero actionable insights. I wanted a single hub to see what truly moves the needle: what content resonates, when to post, and how to monetize better. That frustration became the spark for CreatorAnalytics Pro.

What it does

CreatorAnalytics Pro unifies YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and X performance data into one dashboard. It aggregates followers, engagement, watch time, and revenue (ads, sponsorships, affiliate, merch, subscriptions) with 15-minute real-time sync, delivers AI-powered content recommendations, and visualizes cross-platform trends to guide data-driven decisions.

How we built it

We started by mapping unified metrics across platform APIs to standardize data collection, then built a React frontend for the intuitive dashboard UI with Chart.js for dynamic visualizations. The Node.js backend handles 15-minute data syncs, while OpenAI API powers natural-language trend analysis. We integrated Stripe for subscription management and hosted the stack on AWS with PostgreSQL for secure data storage.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest hurdle was normalizing metrics across platforms—each API defines "engagement" or "reach" differently. We also faced API rate limits that disrupted real-time sync, and ensuring AI insights prioritized statistically significant trends (20% variance minimum) required fine-tuning our analysis logic. Subscription payment failure handling also demanded robust error states and user communication flows.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a truly unified experience—no more switching tabs to compare performance. The AI insights panel now generates clear, actionable explanations for engagement spikes/drops, and the revenue dashboard accurately attributes earnings to specific content and platforms, even with multi-currency support. We also built a responsive design that works seamlessly on desktop and tablet, matching the modern, clean aesthetic creators expect.

What we learned

We deepened our understanding of platform API nuances and data normalization best practices. We also learned that AI insights are only valuable if they’re actionable—so we shifted from generic trends to prioritized recommendations ranked by impact score. Most importantly, we validated that creators crave simplicity over complexity: the most used features are the core metrics summary and cross-platform trend charts.

What's next for this project

First, we’ll expand historical data retention beyond 12 months to support long-term trend analysis. We’re also exploring integrations with additional monetization tools (e.g., affiliate platforms) and refining the AI forecasting model to improve revenue projection accuracy. While mobile support was out of scope for v1, it’s top of the list for v2—creators want to check metrics on the go. Finally, we’ll add A/B testing features to let creators validate content strategies directly in the dashboard.
