Inspiration: There are a lot of people that are spending their Christmas away from their family especially after the pandemic, or due to work and school so I wanted to create a website where people can have a place to carry their Christmas warmth to others.
What it does: Individuals will be able to send cards and presents to others to spread their warmth
How we built it: I used html and css for this website
Challenges we ran into : When I was trying to use the hover effect on the cards, the text wouldn't overlap with the card image, rather it will be placed next to the card, I was able to overcome this by removing the display function in the body's css.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: I was able to create a hover effect and typing effect through css
What we learned : The use of css to create hover and animation effects, this was something that I've never done before, css was more just colors and fonts to me prior to this hackathon. I didn't know that I could use css and html to create such cool effects. The start page and card page were all created base upon css.
What's next : If I had time, I would add a email input box so individuals will be able to enter so they can have a recipient to send, I will also like to add a random quote generator with javascript so the text on the card can change.
