Inspiration
This game is inspired by the concept of "cooperation". In doing so, the project pursued efforts to promote collaboration between 2 players in person, or through ambidextrous movement.
What it does
It is a short game where you and a best body, despite the ailments of one arm, work together to bring a coconut to their home!
How we built it
Built using Godot 4, and Abelton Live 12
Challenges we ran into
Main function of the game, is picking and throwing the objects
What's next for One Armed Crabs
Polishing any visual and functional glitches that could not be remedied prior to submission. Once that has been ironed out, this will be a great game to show friends and family, as well as onlooking internship recruiters.
Challenges we ran into
Main function of the game, is picking and throwing the objects. Managing collision boxes and applying velocity only when the player releases the arm (that is accounting for BOTH players by the way!)
What we learned
Node Scope and Structure were our biggest lessons. It lead to cleaner and more elegant solutions as the project rapidly expanded
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Godot was a relatively foreign to us. The fact that we were able to understand the engine mechanics, and went on to create a game with a proper game loop and design, is rather impressive
