Inspiration

Millions of people lack accessible, non-intimidating, and evidence-informed guidance on cancer prevention and early screening. OncoAware was built to bridge this knowledge gap by empowering individuals with proactive health insights through a clean, intuitive mobile UI experience.

What it does

OncoAware focuses on three core pillars under the Prevention & Education track:

  1. Home & Prevention Dashboard: Delivers daily evidence-backed lifestyle tips, quick navigation categories, and a clear entry point for risk screening.
  2. Interactive Risk Checker: A friendly, step-by-step self-assessment wizard evaluating personal habits and family history to provide personalized awareness guidance.
  3. Prevention Library & Myths vs Facts: A dedicated educational repository featuring bite-sized articles on sun safety, dietary habits, screening timelines, and common myth-busting facts. ## How we built it
  4. Design & Prototyping: Built using Figma following modern mobile design guidelines (clean visual hierarchy, soft mint/emerald color palette, and high accessibility).
  5. Design System: Structured typography (Inter/San Francisco), custom icons, and reusable component cards for consistent UI/UX.
  6. Repository: Documented with a structured architecture and design overview on GitHub. ## Challenges we ran into Designing complex health topics into an encouraging, non-frightening interface required careful color selection and simplified micro-copy to keep users engaged and informed. ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
