Inspiration
The idea of creating OnChainTTT, a classic Tic-Tac-Toe game powered by web3 technology, came from a desire to merge the simplicity and nostalgia of the classic game with the capabilities of modern blockchain technology. We wanted to create more than just a game – a space where excitement and strategy are coupled with the security and transparency of the decentralized world. The desire to incorporate betting added an extra element of risk and fun, making each game truly exhilarating.
What it does
OnChainTTT is not just Tic-Tac-Toe; it's a new milestone in gaming. Players can challenge each other online, making bets in cryptocurrency and competing for a chance to take it all. The game uses smart contracts to ensure the fairness and security of bets. Every action is recorded on the blockchain, ensuring transparency and reliability in the process, with the winner taking the entire pot.
How we built it
The development of OnChainTTT began with designing an intuitive and user-friendly interface using JavaScript and HTML/CSS. We chose the Polygon Amoy Testnet for testing and Ethereum for the main network. Smart contracts were written in Solidity and deployed on the Polygon network. To integrate with the blockchain, we used Web3.js and MetaMask, ensuring ease and security for user interactions with the game.
Challenges we ran into
Throughout our journey, we encountered numerous technical challenges. One of the main difficulties was integrating web3 technologies with our frontend to ensure a seamless user experience. We also faced challenges while working with Chainlink's Keeper and Functions, which required fine-tuning and significant debugging efforts. Ensuring transaction security and fraud protection also became critical aspects that demanded special attention.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have created a full-fledged, decentralized version of Tic-Tac-Toe where every move and bet is transparent and secure. Successfully implementing smart contracts and integrating them with the user interface is a significant achievement. We take particular pride in the responsive and intuitive interface, which makes our game accessible even to those unfamiliar with the blockchain world.
What we learned
Working on OnChainTTT has given us profound insights into web3 and smart contracts. We learned how to use blockchain technology to create secure and transparent applications. Working with Polygon and Chainlink allowed us to understand the importance of integrating various technologies and provided a rich experience in solving complex technical problems.
What's next for OnChainTTT
We plan to continue developing and enhancing OnChainTTT, adding new features and capabilities. Our immediate plans include implementing a rating system and organizing tournaments, allowing players to compete at a new level. We are also considering integration with other blockchain platforms to expand our gaming community. In the long term, we see OnChainTTT as a leading platform for blockchain games, uniting players from around the world in exciting and secure competitions.
