Inspiration
As a father of two girls (4 and 6), we really enjoy me telling them fairy tales before bedtime. At the same time, I like to discuss with them what they have learned at school, but it is not always a desired subject for them, especially as the school lessons become harder.
What it does
The app turns school lessons into learning adventures. It prompts users to input the student's [age] and today's lesson from school [subject], then creates an age-appropriate fairytale by transforming elements of the lesson into amazing adventures.
How we built it
I described the app functions, and after Party Rock Intelligence created the app, I began adjusting all preferences to make it user-friendly, fun, and engaging.
Challenges we ran into
There were cases where the images were irrelevant to the story, or containing violent scenes, or the fairy tales lacked depth
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It creates amazing tales even for 40-year-old 'children' with given subjects based on stressful work tasks
What we learned
There is a lot of out-of-the-box thinking involved, yet it remains easy for someone who doesn't know any coding to create AI-powered apps
What's next for Once upon a lesson
The development of one more interactive version (already completed in alpha version but requiring extensive tuning) utilizes a chat widget to further transform the fairy tales into learning experiences
