Once Upon A Dream

Inspiration

A really big inspiration that we decided to take on is r/place, an infamous Reddit grid that was really known for their giant board, which only allows users to add one pixel onto the board every 5 minutes. Their use of blockchain really helped to prevent any botting on the board and for the true public to really see what a public piece of artwork really is.

What it does do

As you enter Once Upon A Dream, your made to authenticate your user using block chain of which we give you a private key to authenticate your user so your not botting, then from there on out, we allow that user to type a few words into the story already started. On top of that, a user is able to view old stories made by other users and be able to create a new stories themselves to start a new community project.

How we built it

I've gotta say building the project was a great journey for us! Starting off, we really had to brainstorm ideas for problems to solve. After spending a lot of hardtime brainstorming a great idea, we decided to come together to plan out our project. From thereon out we planned to use Hedera for our blockchain and create our whole outline plan using Figma. After doing all that, we created our React App and decided to come together to create our project implementing all the features together.

Challenges we ran into

During this project, we've gotta say was very challenging as it is a 24 hour hackathon, which is a lot less than the standard 36 hour hackathons. A big problem we faced was running some of our development product on different computers, even when sharing the exact files through Github, since we had to implement Hedera which is generally harder to use blockchain technology. On top of that, React also had us run into a lot of problems with implementing our features and getting everything to work. Though overall, I have to say we came together great as a team to accomplish our project!
