Onboarding bot

Inspiration

• The inspiration the situation in our company. The HR girls need to do a lot of work to onboard new employees. We wanted to create something which can make their work easy.
• It was challenge for us because its specific job where are reminders and questions.

What it does

• It sending the reminders to the new employees
• It answers basic questions about the organization and infrastructure

How we built it

• We started from the scratch
• We are using Node.JS and express.js framework
• There are some additional packages which makes our work easier like lodash, moment ..
• We are also using the Airtable because our HR are not technical employees and they creating the content (what will bot send) so they need something non technical where to add these sentences / QA and reminders

Challenges we ran into

• Connecting to the Airtable
• Connecting to the FB - the webhook
• The simple AI

• Work with external API - Airtable
• Work with facebook API and facebook app

What's next for Onboarding bot

• More working groups
• More QA
• Checking some internal settings (for example last raise salary meeting, the onboarding date) - connecting to the internal API
