About the Project - On Tracks 🚀

Inspiration

The idea for On Tracks was born from our experience with Compassup, where we saw firsthand the impact of tailored guidance on students' academic journeys. At Compassup, we learned that personalization is key to helping students make informed choices about their education. However, we also realized that beyond choosing the right path, students need continuous support to stay on track and thrive academically.

We noticed that young people are often left to navigate their academic challenges alone. With just one advisor for every 1,500 students, and tutoring costs exceeding €1,000 per pupil, many families simply cannot afford the extra help they need. Despite their willingness to invest in their children’s education, 65% of French parents lack the financial means to do so. This lack of resources contributes to stress, reduced academic performance, and, ultimately, unemployment, costing France around 1% of its GDP annually.

We wanted to change that. Inspired by the personalized approach that worked so well at Compassup, we set out to create On Tracks—an all-in-one app designed to provide life-changing academic mentorship, accessible to everyone.

What We Learned

Through our journey with On Tracks, we realized the critical importance of adapting to each student's unique pedagogical needs. It's not enough to offer generic advice; we needed to tailor the plan to each individual's objectives to make it as effective as possible. This personalized approach not only enhances academic performance but also boosts motivation by aligning with students’ personal goals.

Moreover, we understood that focusing solely on grades isn’t enough. High schoolers need a holistic approach to growth, one that encompasses not just academic success but also personal development. That’s why On Tracks integrates resources beyond schoolwork, such as volunteering opportunities, extracurricular learning, and wellness tips. By pushing students to explore new areas and develop soft skills, we help them grow into well-rounded individuals.

How We Built It

We utilized the latest AI models and tech stack to create an all-in-one app designed to guide students daily. The backbone of On Tracks consists of:

Claude Sonnet 3.7 (AWS Bedrock) for AI-driven content generation
MISTRAL LLM for natural language understanding
Amazon OpenSearch Serverless for quick data retrieval
DuckDuckGo Web Agent for live web data
AWS S3 for secure storage
Frontend with WASP for an intuitive user interface

Challenges We Faced

We’re currently enhancing our MVP and will start gathering user feedback to refine the app. Our goal is to make On Tracks the go-to platform for students looking to boost their academic performance through personalized guidance and real-world insights.
