Inspiration
I learned the term "Moloch" this last year in an Aldous Huxley article I was reading, "Every idol, however exalted, turns out, in the long run, to be a Moloch, hungry for human sacrifice." And several years ago, I was reading Marshall Rosenberg's book, Nonviolent Communication; there's a line in that book that haunts me, "If we really loved our children, we wouldn't send them to war." And I was thinking about interesting sort of genre combinations that haven't really been done yet, and I wanted to do a horror sitcom. I was driving through Albuquerque and the idea just came to me.
What it does
Horror sitcom. Provides a solid framework to develop a long-term series full of dark, satirical, criticism of western culture and society.
How we built it

Challenges we ran into
Heaps. Mostly time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I couldn't be prouder of the project.
What we learned
AI has a long way to go... It's wild though how much has come along even since I finished this project.
What's next for On the Outskirts
It's going to win this competition, get some critical attention, and a big studio is going to buy and franchise the series.
