OmniAsset

Inspiration

Most finance apps only track one thing , your stocks, your crypto, or your bank account. But real wealth is scattered everywhere: a house, a car, some gold, savings, investments. We couldn't find a single app that brought it all together and answered the question that actually matters , "Am I on track to financial freedom?" So we built it.

What It Does

OmniAsset is a mobile app that tracks your entire financial life in one place. Add stocks, crypto, real estate, vehicles, precious metals, and cash accounts, then watch your total net worth update in real time with live market prices.

But OmniAsset goes far beyond simple tracking:

  • Financial AI Agent — a conversational chat powered by a financial LLM that can answer any question about your portfolio, from asset allocation to tax implications
  • AI-Powered Risk Analysis — personalized, brutally honest critiques of your portfolio with specific diversification recommendations.
  • Smart Buy/Sell Signals — AI analyzes your debt, cash flow, and holdings to suggest which investments may be worth buying or selling
  • Financial Independence Calculator — interactive charts showing exactly when you can stop working, adjustable in real time.
  • Cash Flow Monitoring — track income sources and expenses to understand where your money is going
  • Asset Depreciation Tracking — visualize how assets like vehicles and equipment lose value over time
  • Earnings Data — view earnings reports and financial data for the companies in your portfolio
  • Holding Insights — deep dives into each individual asset with performance metrics and actionable analysis
  • Financial Health Score — a simple 0–100 score that tells you how you're doing overall
  • Data Vault — securely upload and store important documents like insurance policies, property deeds, and vehicle titles alongside the assets they belong to, all documents encrypted end-to-end
  • Goal Tracking — stay on target for emergency funds, down payments, retirement, and more
  • Live Market News — push notifications so you never miss a major financial event

How We Built It

We designed a dark, clean interface that feels like a professional trading app but works for all asset types. The biggest challenge was making six completely different asset classes — stocks, crypto, real estate, vehicles, metals, and cash, feel unified. A share of Apple and a 2019 Honda Civic are very different things, but they both contribute to your net worth.

For live pricing, we integrated multiple market data providers so stocks, crypto, gold, and silver update automatically. Real estate uses property valuation data, and vehicles are valued by make, model, and year. Our financial AI agent connects to financial LLM to power everything from portfolio risk analysis to personalized buy/sell recommendations based on your complete financial picture, debt, cash flow, holdings, and goals.

Challenges We Ran Into

Unifying different asset types was harder than expected. A stock has a ticker, a house has a Zestimate, gold is priced per ounce, making them all feel cohesive with proper detail pages, depreciation curves, document storage, and gain/loss tracking required careful design thinking.

Real-time data from multiple sources, Because we had to get data from various sources, each with different formats and rate limits, this meant we had to build a robust normalization layer to make everything just work.

Accomplishments We're Proud Of

  • Built a production-ready app — real subscriptions, real market data, real AI analysis
  • Unified view where a stock, a house, a car, and a gold bar all live in one net worth dashboard
  • A financial AI agent that understands your entire portfolio and gives actionable, personalized answers
  • AI that goes beyond generic advice to deliver specific buy/sell signals based on your debt, cash flow, and holdings
  • Data Vault The Data vault turns the app into a single source of truth, not just for values, but for the documents behind them.
  • Successfully shipped to TestFlight with working subscriptions end-to-end

What We Learned

  • Good design is about constraints — the challenge was making wildly different data types feel unified
  • AI works best when it's specific — generic advice is useless, but analyzing actual holdings, cash flow, and debt produces real insights
  • People don't know their net worth — seeing everything added up for the first time is a powerful moment

What's Next

Budget planning with spending alerts, debt payoff strategies, "what if" scenario modeling, tax planning tools, automatic account syncing, and an Android launch with multi-currency support.
