Inspiration

My dad tested positive in Covid -19 more than one month ago in Spain. During his stay in hospital, I have been sending him videos and audios of meditations to keep him centered, positive and mentally fit. This has released a lot of the stress that he's gone through during his isolation. But I wondered how would that be for people who don't have a family member that knows about meditation and mindset development. Also, my dad didn't know how to follow my classes through Zoom, so I had to provide an easier solution, and I did that through Whatsapp, but was difficult to keep him reminded to do his breathing exercises.

At the same time, as an expat living in Dubai, I found that many people could not practice online Yoga or Meditation in their mother language, so I started teaching in Spanish, which is being of great relief to people who can't pay for a big amount of money, or don't even know how to start yoga, and starting in English was not an option. This has supported me financially as well, and it's a situation in which many Yoga & Meditation teachers are founding themselves, as they can't teach any more in a studio, most of them don't have Digital & Marketing skills, and there is also a saturation in the market.

What it does

Ommany connects the different users (sick people, quarantined, healthcare workers, expats) with the Yoga & Meditation teachers, so they have a personalized attention, whether is a live stream class or recorded. They can chose their language, and the teacher, making the experience personalized and emotionally close, so the relationship can continue after the pandemic finishes.

It is different to other Yoga & Meditation apps, because this one is focused on providing a tailored customer experience whether you are a sick person in hospital, a family member that is quarantined, a jobless expat living alone or a health worker that needs some encouragement during the commute after work.

How I built it

It is not build yet.

Challenges I ran into

To have a tech team is my main challenge.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I built a Yoga Start-Up in 2016, which was selected amongst 1000 proposal to be part of an accelerator in the United Arab Emirates. I achieved an investment of 50k USD, monetized 1 month after the launch, and got 300k visitors to the website in only 3 months.

This experience will be useful to build my second wellness solution, as I do understand both sides: the customer behavior (I am a Brand Strategist, Digital Marketing Expert and Marketer ) and the wellness professionals (I am a certified Yoga Instructor with more than 15 years of practice)

What I learned

Technology is very important to make it easy, accessible, and safe to everyone.

What's next for Ommany

To build the MVP, and start working on Strategic partnerships with governments .
