OLIWAA EVENTS

Inspiration

In Uganda, booking and ticketing of events is extremeky expensive and most of it is done physically. With me being a person who loves going to events, during concerts,I found it really hectic and tiresome and wished there was an easy way to do this. Coincedentially, I came up with the idea of booking events,ticketing and wanting to know the most hyped event features on an online platform to make it more convinient. OLIWAA is a Ugandan question which came up as the company name which means “Where are you at?” In English

What it does

OLIWAA is an online platform where people book tickets,events and see the most popular event around town all on the app. Payments are paid online aswell through the wallets incooperated.

How we built it

We built OLIWAA with a team of three developers and the process was not east but we managed to pull through.

We recently won a Ugandan hackathon involving WomenInFinTec and we are proud tobhave taken part of it because we learnt alot and gained more skills.

What we learned

Team work is the basis of a strong unit. Not everyone is going to root for what you are doing but keep going. Clients desires shift so we also have to make research everytime and be flexible.

What's next for OLIWAA

OLIWAA has future prospects of implementing AR into its system for us to have a modified platform for events and ticketing and the AR is going to be used in the geo locations to show the most popular events in a more unique way.
