Comtrole
Inspiration
Comtrole was inspired by the growing need for a flexible and centralized management platform for industries and factories, especially in the furniture sector. After working directly with production teams, support staff, and business managers, I realized how fragmented their tools were — spreadsheets, outdated ERPs, and paper-based task tracking were still the norm. That complexity and lack of integration led to inefficiency, miscommunication, and operational blind spots. I created Comtrole to fix that.
What it does
Comtrole is a modular management system that brings together essential tools for support, inventory, production control, task management, and internal communication. Companies can activate only the modules they need — like support tickets, raw material tracking, task boards, internal chat, and more — while maintaining a unified and user-friendly interface. The goal is to give industries full visibility and control over their internal operations without the usual ERP bloat.
How we built it
Comtrole was built using a modular MVC architecture, which allows us to scale and plug new features without disrupting the core system. The frontend uses Vue.js with Vite for fast performance and modern UI. The backend is powered by Node.js and Supabase as the backend-as-a-service, including authentication, database, and storage. We use OAuth via Google for login, and permissions are handled granularly to fit real-world team hierarchies and department roles.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was designing a permissions system that is powerful enough for complex organizations but still intuitive for admins to configure. Another challenge was keeping the interface clean and user-friendly even with many modules coexisting in one environment. Balancing flexibility with simplicity has been a constant design decision throughout the build.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of how adaptable Comtrole is. Whether a company needs only task management and chat, or a complete support and inventory system, Comtrole can be shaped to fit. We also managed to build a solid foundation for modular growth — each feature lives in its own domain but integrates seamlessly with the others. That’s not easy to do while keeping performance high and UX smooth.
What we learned
We learned that companies need more customization and modularity than traditional systems offer. No two factories or teams are alike, and forcing them into a rigid workflow kills productivity. We also learned the importance of fast onboarding — users don't want to read manuals or attend trainings. So every screen and interaction needs to be as self-explanatory as possible.
What's next for Comtrole
Next, we’re focusing on:
- A Promob Venture integration for seamless design-to-production workflows.
- Advanced task automation and rule-based triggers.
- A mobile-friendly version for factory-floor teams.
- Analytics dashboards to give decision-makers real-time insights.
We want Comtrole to become the backbone of internal operations for modern industrial businesses — modular, intelligent, and easy to use.
