Inspiration I always loved food, especially the Japanese cuisine, and even specifically... sushi. I thought it would be fun to design and prototype an app dedicated to sushi.
What it does The app allows users to order sushi online for pickup or delivery without having to wait in line for their food. It also has a social feature where users can post the food they liked and order something just from watching a reel of a dish. It's like Instagram, but you can instantly buy what you see.
How we built it I used Figma to design and prototyped everything.
Challenges we ran into I had to figure out a way to make the app more innovative as there are already so many food ordering apps out there already. I implemented a social feature where foodies can react, dm each other, and purchase what they saw.
Accomplishments that we're proud of The app design came out to be great and after testing the participants loved the idea.
What we learned Having more knowledge when it comes to food ordering apps and the typical flow it takes from browsing through dishes to confirming the payment.
What's next for Oishi- Sushi Ordering App Adding more features and potentially development if Oishi was actually a real restaurant that needed this app.
