Inspiration

The project is inspired by vintage 2D animated cartoons, with their charming imperfections, expressive outlines, and emotionally charged simplicity. This retro aesthetic creates a contrast between innocence and the darker themes hidden beneath the surface.

What it does

The film follows a group of pigs who dream of a better future, imagining hopeful, colorful worlds that stand in stark opposition to the harsh suffering of their present reality. Through their fantasies, the story reveals both their vulnerability and their longing for escape.

How we built it

Hailuo was used to generate and animate the video, shaping the visual rhythm and emotional tone The process focused on bringing vintage animation energy into a modern, socially reflective narrative.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was preserving stylistic consistency across all scenes and ensuring that each pig character remained visually coherent throughout the story.

What we learned

The project offers a dystopian vision of the world through the eyes of a pig, revealing how imagination can become both a refuge and a silent protest against cruelty.
