What it does: This free online platform provides free financial resources in areas, such as budgeting, saving, investing, and/or filing taxes by connecting people with industry professionals/experts on those topics. We hope the connection and knowledge-sharing enable users to make informed decisions and take proactive steps towards their financial goals.
We also created an adobe express ad on capable of creating stickers for all of the free consulting firms.
How We built it: We used the MERN stack (Mongodb, Express.js, Node.js)and Adobe Express API for the backend as well as HTML, CSS, and React for the frontend.
Challenges: During the development, we ran into issues with getting a member to run the server on their machine, setting up github, learning new frameworks in a short time, and working on the apis (adobe express add on)
Accomplishments: Connecting the backend to the data without many issues
What we learned: How to build a website using github and vs code as a team.
What's Next for Oink: We want to finish the adobe adon, implement the location filter functionality on the search/list page, and add virtual seminars and videos on the home page.
