Inspiration
Will used to do oil quality sampling on navy ships, and we wanted to make that data gathering a little more universally structured, by trying to reduce chance of human error via human interpretation.
What it does
It gives structure to the routine sampling of oil from machines, recording the sample source and the tester, as well as stores a photo of the sample, and analyzes the quality of the oil based on the color.
How we built it
Mostly pseudo-code, but the process is thoroughly planned out.
Challenges we ran into
I don't know a lot of the code related to images, and ran out of time to research.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I believe the core process of the color processing can be used in a whole bunch of different applications in the future.
What we learned
Old experiences can still be a driving force for creating future innovations.
What's next for Oil Colorimeter
CIE color standards instead of color hex codes, and quality checking of photo before using in analysis to name a couple off the top of my head.
