Oikonomia is inspired by my mom's constant resourcefulness in making the most out of the ingredients we have in our pantry. It helps reduce food waste by highlighting which of the user's ingredients are about to go bad, and helps them find recipes to use up ingredients and avoid wasting food. The name is inspired by Aristotle's Politics where the great philosopher refers to household management or "oikonomia" in Greek as a paramount virtue in the leader of a household.
