Inspiration
We see massive potential in interdisciplinary projects that could change the world – yet many fail before they even start due to the lack of the right people. We were inspired by the challenge: how do you connect specialists from different "worlds" before a project becomes a "company" and secures funding?
What it does
LinkedHub is a platform that connects innovators with experts from various fields based on their interests, location, and project needs. Users can create a project, specify the skills they're looking for, and attract collaborators through filters, graph-based visualization, and a community-driven rating system. A key feature is the Open Source focus – just like Linux or GitHub, we rely on the community. In return, projects that remain open and transparent get access to all advanced features for free. Private projects can still benefit, but require payment for full functionality.
How we built it
We built the frontend using Next.js with Tailwind CSS and shadcn UI. The backend is powered by Django Rest Framework and SQLite. The graph visualization was implemented using react-force-graph, and the system is containerized with Docker and orchestrated via Kubernetes.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was integrating graph libraries with Next.js in an SSR environment. Managing dynamic relationships between users and projects, while keeping the interface intuitive and visually appealing, was also a major hurdle.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully created a scalable platform that already shows real user value in its prototype stage. We're especially proud of implementing powerful filters and the open-source vs. private feature model, which positions the project for real-world applicability.
What we learned
We learned how to effectively integrate multiple tech stacks and design an architecture that can scale. We also gained experience in building systems that support collaboration across diverse domains with a clear purpose and shared goals.
What's next for [Ogólna][DROP TABLE DRUZYNY;] LinkedHub
We plan to add crowdfunding support, improve the rating and application management system, and build a full-featured API for integration with external tools (e.g., GitHub, Notion). Ultimately, we aim to build a thriving ecosystem that empowers open-source and deep-tech projects from day one.
