Inspiration

I have always been a big fan of eCommerce but I don't like the cumbersome approach of the current process. I always wish there is a simpler way commercial transactions can be created by business so I create a Bot on SMS and Facebook for businesses.

What it does

Merchant upload their products on Ogaranya and codes are created for these products. They display this products on their advert materials and their customers can purchase from start to finish this product from them. These merchants can also create invoices for customers to pay against using USSD.

How I built it

The application was built on API to solve the problem with cumbersome eCommerce processes. It was built with simplistic approach.

Challenges I ran into

The challenge I ran into when I created the SMS bot was the charges of SMS in Nigeria while a lot of businesses can access Facebook for almost free. I decided to have this same experience happen on Facebook messenger with a seamless experience.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Users on our platform are omni-users, the same user that uses SMS are the same users on Facebook, in fact a user can start a transaction on SMS and when this user runs out of airtime continues on the Facebook to complete it.

What's next for Ogaranya

Application of Machine learning is next for Ogaranya. There are some basic task users want to perform that Ogaranya can make fun for them. There are some predictive models that can be ran and some basic corrections of command users are sending.
