Inspiration

Working is stressful, especially when your job is on the line! We want you to be able to change your work environment, as it has a huge effect on your mental well-being!

What it does

Enables you to customize your work environment with virtual object and environments.

How we built it

We used Unity and the VIVE Wake XR Plugin so that we could develop for the VIVE XR Elite.

Challenges we ran into

We struggled to figure out how to set up the project in Unity to be able to build to the Vive headset. In addition, it was a struggle to set up many of the UI elements and learn how to use some of the headset's special features.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the textures we made for the planets and for being able to get the passthrough functionality to work while allowing the 3D objects to stay present in the scene.

What we learned

We learned how to collaborate with people of different skillsets and about how to prioritize tasks.

What's next for Office Oasis

With a less limited wifi network we can create monitors that mirror someone's laptop screen so that they can physically work in the VR scene. They would also be able to create multiple monitors in VR each with different windows open. Within the virtual scenes, we would allow the user to switch to various skyboxes with different virtual environments (ocean, space, nature) as well. Our 3D objects would also vary depending on the scene.
